INSTRUCTIONS

Week 14 (22/11/2021) Floating
Artist statement; 
Describing my work, it is a photo of me, holding an umbrella that is casting a light down on me. Within the 'ray' of the light, there are jellyfish floating around me, and other elements that give the illusion of being in water. 

I chose the umbrella as a way to say that I've sheltered myself away from the darkness. I put Jellyfishes inside the umbrella as a way to signify how I am floating through life, and added a water reflection below the feet to add a sense of dimension and unite everything within the light that is being shone by the umbrella. Along with that, I used mostly blues to represent the ocean or give off vibes of the ocean.

I wanted to signify that no matter how dark it may be outside, you can be your own light, that you can disregard what you can't control, but take what you can control as your virtue.
