Week 9 (18/10/2021) Digital Surrealism
Realism - The reality, consists of subject matters and placed into a world where it is considered ordinary/normal. To think outside of the box may result in a (realism) piece to not be 'real.'

Surrealism - Surrealism is a cultural movement that focuses on arts that express about the artist's idea themselvesA twist on reality, explores the subconscious mind and the imagination. Subject matters concentrating on dream-images, distorts the ordinary and is not considered to be 'real.' Is filled with strange images and bizarre juxtapositions.

Surrealism 101;
  • Dream-like scenes and symbolic images
  • Unexpected, illogical juxtapositions
  • Bizarre collection of ordinary objects
  • Primitive or child-like designs.

Dadaism - Anti-war art movement, artworks consists of satirical and are nonsensical in nature.

To capture your dream;
  • Sketch it out
    • Draw your vison, no need for details, lay out the key points of your vision.
  • Find Reference images
    • Helps to realize your new idea, gather images that relate to what you have in mind.

Things to keep in mind;
  • "Does this look real?"
    • Surrealism is at its best when it's convincing that it could be real
  • Make it happen to the best of your ability
    • Do not be afraid to learn, and do not be afraid of your own ideas. 


PRACTICAL

Week 9 (18/10/2021)
After receiving feedback, I made changes to the poster and produced the Final Poster

The different types of clocks is a metaphor to represent the different ways of healing. Jasmine flowers are used to represent peace and calmness, to lower anxiety levels. This poster is meant to speak on the topic of healing, and taking things the way you want to, solving problems the way you find most comfortable, and not living your life and making decisions based on the jurisdiction of others.

FEEDBACK

Mr. Fauzi brought up the spacing between the text and the collage in the middle of the poster. Along with that, he brought up the size of the slogan, and recommended I made it larger.
